Point Breaks are accredited by the British Surfing Association. All your instructors are BSA Qualified Instructors and are fully qualified beach lifeguards. Our groups are kept to small ratios. Generally 1 instructor to 6 students although the maximum ratio we teach is 1 instructor to 8 pupils on our multi-activity weekends. We only use fully qualified staff.

We are not a budget surf school! You do not just get 10 minutes on the beach and in you go chaps! We teach full and thorough lessons with a very high success rate. We cover many categories such as surf board handling, beach safety, paddle techniques, body stances and professional jump throughs (don't think you will just get to your knees !)
If you just fancy a splash - don't come to us!
Our instructors are real local surfers who know the local conditions like the back of their hand. We choose where you surf based on the prevailing conditions, the swell size, wind direction and state of the tide. We may teach the surf lessons at Croyde Bay, Putsborough or possibly Woolacombe - depending on the local conditions.
"Dear Simon, Luke and Del,
Thanks for a couple of really great surfing lessons, it was excellent....we have learnt more with you guys in one weekend, than we did on a whole week course with xxxxxxx (another local surf school)... Take care"
John & Kimberley, London
We offer a huge amount of surf courses pitched at beginners through to competition surfers. See more information about your instructors in our qualifications list
Video analysis is available (optional extra) so you can watch your surfing frame by frame with top coaching by the professionals. One to one surf tuition is available too.
Our standard Surf lessons are £35 per person for 3 and a half hours tuition.
This includes all your kit:
a suitable board, a warm 5/4/3mm wetsuit, boots, a bright Point Breaks rash vest and all your tuition.
We use a variety or surf boards depending on your skill level - mini mal soft boards for beginners, hard/soft boards for those progressing and custom boards for more advanced (although advanced lesson surfers usually have their own boards). The minimum age for surf lessons is 8.
