Why SURF with Point Breaks?
- We are the oldest Suf School in Croyde, we've been teaching here for more than 25 years!
- 3 hour surf lessons, we offer the longest lessons of any school in the area.
- We will teach you how to SURF FOR LIFE, we want you to keep on surfing, adopt this sport and take it wherever you go.
- We provide only the best equipment with new wetsuits and surfboards arriving at our warehouse at the beginning of every season.
- All our instructors are fully surf qualified and are qualified beach lifeguards. Our groups are kept to small ratios, usually with one instructor to six students.
We are not a budget surf school! We
teach full and thorough lessons, which include a good session to
practice on the beach before going into the water. We have a
very high success rate and you will be standing up by the end of
the lesson. We cover surfboard handling, beach safety, paddle
techniques, body stances and professional jump throughs if you are
at that level.
Our instructors are local surfers who know the local conditions like the back of their hand. We choose where you surf based on the prevailing conditions, the swell size, wind direction and state of the tide. We teach the surf lessons at Croyde Bay or Putsborough.
We use a variety or surfboard sizes
depending on your size and skill level - mini-mal soft boards for
beginners, hard/soft boards for those progressing and custom boards
for more advanced (although advanced lesson surfers usually have
their own boards).
The minimum age for surf lessons is eight years.
