Welcome to Point Breaks

We are Croyde Bay's oldest surf school and now the biggest watersports specialist company in Devon. Once you've tried Point Breaks you won't want to go anywhere else!  Check out our video to see what we do.

Reach the extreme with Point Breaks and surf at Croyde or Putsborough, wakeboard or waterski the Taw and Torridge Estuary, go coaststeering at our 'secret spot', try our new stand-up paddleboards, kayak the waters at Lee Bay or Watermouth Cove or ride the superscreamer behind our FAST speedboat!

Our Instructors

All Point Breaks instructors are fully qualified in the field in which they are teaching. For your added safety they are also fully qualified beach lifeguards. We teach surfing at all levels and we teach waterskiing and wakeboarding to beginners.

Current qualifications include:

  • Full beach lifeguard with Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) or NARS
  • Level one, two and three surf coach with Surf Great Britain
  • Performance Level surf school with Surf Great Britain
  • Accredited with British Water Ski and Wakeboard Federation (BWSF)
  • International ski boat driver award (BWSF)
  • First Aid at work certificate
  • Single Pitch Climbing Award with The BMC
  • Level 3 star Sea Kayak with BCU
  • Mountain Leader Summer Award BMC

Surf & Watersports Instructor

We are always on the lookout for qualified instructors or those seeking qualifications. If you have a RLSS or NARS beach lifeguard qualification then we have work for you.

If you have a BSA surf instructor qualification as well then we can offer you even more work.  If you have completed your BSA qualification and are looking to build up your log book hours then speak to us and we will pay you for the hours you do unlike many surf schools.

Also if you have some waterskiing or wakeboarding experience we are on the lookout for spotters for our boat sessions. We can also help you to become a qualified speedboat driver by doing the SBDA course, If you're over 18 and live locally then get in touch.  To apply please just drop us an email
